I am forcing myself to sit down and finally add some photos of our Great Room changes and one of my grandkids too! My last entry showed that we had painted and now we actually have some new furniture too! A small sofa, love seat and a small chaise lounge. It isn't the FINAL furniture for this room, but a very enjoyable stop gap set that will go up to the "Man Cave" next summer when we get another new and different set for in here!
What I am planning is to change out the pillows, throws, candles, and some of the portraits to reflect the season of the year we are experiencing. I am picturing a bright green with golden yellows for the spring and I think turquoise and coral for the summer. For this Christmas I hope to change it to a nice russet red and a couple shades of greens. And of course, LOTS of sparkle!!! If it's shiny, I want it!!! Just call me Raven!

The TV area is still a dream project for us. We had our son in law give us a quote on materials for what we want built in there and he came back with HIS cost of approximately $2000.00. Not in the budget yet!
What do you think?
This is the marble topped bar I surprised my husband with the 1st week we moved here. It's been up in his "Man Cave", but it never quite fit or was used. We think it will be perfect for this side of the room now!
The furniture is leather with micro-suede. It is a FUR magnet!!! ACK!
I hand stitched this sampler alphabet for my grandparents when I was 16 years old, now I have it back to remind me of them and the love I put into this for them. Hope my kids will cherish it too!
My dining table centerpiece I concocted for Autumn. It is bright and cheerful and lets me pretend we live in a climate that has these beautiful colored leaves! Darned So. California!!!
And finally, here are some photos of my youngest grandson Kash, celebrating his 1st Birthday this last week! We had the party at the park right around the corner from our home.
He was VERY serious!!!
He finally decided he liked the Birthday Song!!
Happy 1st Birthday my sweet Kash!!!
I hope your week is a good one and I challenge you to think of things you are Thankful for EVERY day!
Always,
Jackie Lee

Jackie...I SO admire people like yourself who love to decorate for the different seasons..
I did that for MANY years too..but now with just the two of us at home and being the age I am..I just don't have the energy ( or the storage space) for that any more.
GOOD FOR YOU. Looks great.
